How can a producer get product placement in their movie? It is great that you are thinking about product placement because that is a big thing that… most producers don’t realize….that you can actually get extra money for… but to get it is a whole other animal! #1 you have to have relationships with advertisers… or else you are going to be knocking on doors and doing a lot of cold calling… if advertisers don’t know you… it is going to be a little bit hard to get in the door. #2 there are a lot of agreements that have to go back and forth… to actually and successfully get the product or brand in your movie.. The third biggest thing is… Think about it this way. the advertiser is looking for the most exposure for their business. You have a narrative and you want to tell a story. You are going to have to give up some of that to work them into your script. If you are not careful… an advertiser can turn your whole script into a commercial… And you don’t want to do that. You have got to be mindful of those things. It is a balancing act between that… Or you can go out and there are companies like ours… Agency 850, we do product placement and product integration, brand integration into movies and TV Shows We are the go-between. We work with the advertiser to get exposure but work in line with production to not take away from that entertaining value, that we as film makers want to make sure is there. but we want to make sure we get the most exposure for our advertiser.
