There Is Nothing Wrong With Having a JOB Outside The Entertainment Business! Good For You Geoffrey Owens #HardWork and #Hustle Is Nothing To Be Ashamed Of!
I don’t know if you guys have been paying attention to the news lately, but Geoffrey Owens, who used to be on ‘The Cosby Show’, recently there were some pictures taken of him working at the Trader Joe’s in Clifton, New Jersey – actually, not far from where I used to live. He’s been getting a lot of flak for it.
I just wanted to share my thoughts on this, because there is absolutely nothing wrong with working a job after the entertainment business or during you working in the entertainment business. I mean, at least he’s freaking doing something.
The fact of the matter is that he’s hustling. Life after the entertainment business – or maybe it’s just something in between – you’ve got to do what you’ve got to do. At least he’s working. I don’t know what the big deal about it is.
Even myself, I’ve taken a break – some of you guys know that I’ve worked as an actor, and I’ve been taking a break from being in front of the camera to run my company at the ad agency and being the CEO of my company. You’ve got to do what you’ve got to do for right here, right now.
The man is hustling, people. Give him some credit. At least he didn’t give up. That’s the biggest thing; he understands that he needs to provide for his family, so he went out and got a job, and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.
So if you guys are in the entertainment business, or maybe you recently got out of the entertainment business, and have a job, good for you. There’s nothing wrong with that. The most important thing that I want for you guys is to absolutely love what you do.
But there is nothing wrong with taking a break, taking a job, whatever it is, getting your life back in order or whatever you need to do, and then going back into it – or even staying out of it if it’s something that you truly don’t love doing. But find the things that you love doing.
I just want to leave you guys with that. There is nothing wrong with having a job.
