The First 40 Days in Ministry

This isn’t a highlight reel.
This is the process documented in real time.

Black-and-white cinematic image of a man writing in a notebook at a desk with a laptop and coffee, lit by soft window light. The scene feels calm, focused, and disciplined with subtle film grain in Chris DeBlasio’s ministry journey

Day 23 – Enjoy the Process

April 23, 2026 — Thursday

Some days don’t feel significant.

No major breakthroughs.
No big moments.
No defining conversations.

Just… work.

Progress.
Tasks.
Movement.

Yesterday was one of those days.

A Different Kind of Win

The morning started with our ROI leadership meeting.

Execution.
Planning.
Moving things forward.

And while nothing felt extraordinary…

Progress was happening.

And that matters more than it seems.

The Reminder I Needed

Because I’ve learned something about myself:

I like momentum.

I like movement.

I like seeing things get done.

But yesterday reminded me of something deeper…

Not every day is meant to feel exciting.
But every day still counts.

The Habit That Keeps Me Grounded

There’s something I’ve built into my day.

A simple reminder on my calendar:

“Enjoy the process.”

Every single day.

Because it’s easy to get caught up in:

  • what’s next

  • what’s not finished

  • what hasn’t happened yet

And miss what’s actually happening right now.

When You Zoom Too Far Out

There was a time in my life where I was forced to slow down.

Where I had to stop thinking years ahead…

And start thinking differently.

Day by day.
Sometimes hour by hour.

Why That Matters

Because when life feels overwhelming…

The future becomes too big to carry.

And the only way forward is this:

Bring your focus closer.

What I’ve Learned About Time

If you’re walking through something difficult:

  • Don’t focus on the next year

  • Don’t focus on the next five years

Sometimes…

Just focus on today.

And if that’s still too much…

Focus on the next hour.

The Shift in Perspective

And here’s what I’m starting to understand:

Life isn’t about reaching a finish line.

Because eventually..

We all reach one.

What Actually Matters

The real question is:

Who are you becoming along the way?

Because goals will come and go.

Milestones will be hit… and replaced.

But who you become…

That stays.

The Problem Most People Face

We live in a world that wants results now.

Instant feedback.
Instant progress.
Instant reward.

And when we don’t see it…

We think nothing is happening.

But That’s Not True

Growth doesn’t always show up immediately.

Sometimes it’s:

  • 1% better

  • one step forward

  • one decision at a time

And over time…

That changes everything.

The Anchor

“Let us not become weary in doing good…” Galatians 6:9

Not because it’s fast.

But because it’s worth it.

Closing Thought

Today didn’t feel like a big day.

But maybe that’s the point.

The life you’re building…
is shaped more by ordinary days
than extraordinary ones.
